Call for proposals for Nokia – OKKA Educational Recognition Award in ICT 13.4. – 29.5.2026
The recognition award, presented jointly by Nokia Foundation and OKKA Foundation, can be received for excellence in Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) education at Finnish universities.
The prize can be awarded to professors, research directors, postdoctoral researchers, researchers, experts, project managers, lecturers, university teachers or assistants. The prize can be awarded to an individual or to a team for outstanding teaching and/or education.
Award criteria
The main criteria for the award are excellence and innovation in providing exemplary ICT teaching, an outstanding pedagogical approach to teaching that inspires students, and a significant contribution to providing ICT education that meets the needs of society and working life. In addition, research activity and its integration into teaching are considered important, as is the international impact of the education.
Submitting a proposal
The award can be proposed by a colleague, a member of staff, a work community, a student organisation or a partner who has a good understanding of the candidate and the ability to compile the essential justifications for awarding the prize. Please submit a proposal for the award recipient either in Finnish or English via OKKA grant system.
Call for proposals is open 13.4.–29.5.2026.
Key days/info
Nokia Foundation and OKKA Foundation will decide on the award receiver in August 2026, after which the award winners will be contacted. Recognition awards will be presented at the Nokia Foundation Awards ceremony in November 2026.
